Throughout my life, I have found it productive - cathartic even - to put pen to paper.
I am a highly adaptable copywriter, perceptive proof-reader and journalist whose work is deeply rooted in the outdoors.
My past is varied - and has at times been pretty colourful! In my twenties I travelled extensively, writing a humorous but ill-fated travel blog documenting less than sanitary hostel dormitories of South East Asia, a multi-day hike in New Zealand in woefully inappropriate footwear, hair-raising night bus journeys and on one occasion, a terribly executed waterfall jump in Australia that resulted in a broken rib. The blog ended rather abruptly when I purchased a veteran minivan and embarked on a solo trip into the outback, where as it turned out, Wifi connections were few and far between.
These days I find myself semi-settled in the English Lake District. My love of rock climbing, running, hill walking and affinity with the mountains, lakes and rock faces that surround me drive me to create, and I am passionate about drawing attention to associated environmental, social, cultural and political issues.
I like to draw upon my experiences and sense of humour to tell a good story, to interrupt, to amplify the voices of others and strive to inform creatively and engagingly, with diligence and integrity.
